Interview

Q1. What inspired you to start the company?
From 2012 to 2015, I studied in Boston and witnessed firsthand how healthcare and technology are fundamentally merging. In particular, I was deeply shocked by the potential for digital health to fundamentally change 'the treatment itself.' After returning to Japan, I carried the desire to conduct evidence-based digital health research and development similarly, and I began research using apps in 2016. Building on that, I am currently developing a business aimed at balancing medical value and social implementation as a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).
Q2. What values are important to your company?
In a word, it's "challenging." I believe that it is precisely the absence of precedents and the difficulty of tasks that give them value. I hold a mindset that values the importance of continuing to take on challenges, thinking scientifically and logically without fear of failure.
Q3. What do you think are the strengths of your company's business?
It is the ability to integrate the perspectives of medicine and research with those of product development and commercialization at a high level. I believe that the capacity to consistently engage in everything from evidence creation to the implementation of medical devices, rather than just stopping at mere ideas or app development, is a significant strength of InnoJin.
Q4. What motivates you about this job?
What truly changes the lives of patients and the nature of healthcare is our commitment. The research results do not just end in papers but are delivered to society as products that help someone. Being involved in that entire process is the greatest sense of fulfillment.
Q5. What kind of atmosphere does the company have?
It is a small elite group, a flat company with active discussions. Good ideas are welcomed regardless of position or seniority. On the other hand, since we deal with science and medicine, discussions are always serious, and there is an atmosphere of getting to the essence of the matter.
Q6. What are the commonalities among the current members?
"We cannot end like this" and "I want to change something" are strong concerns. Although the backgrounds are diverse, the common point is that they enjoy taking on challenges.

Q7. What kind of person do you want to work with?
I want to work with people who can think for themselves and take initiative. I am also looking for those who can feel excited about unknown territories and perceive challenges as opportunities for growth.
Q8. What do you expect after joining the company?
I want you to not only fulfill your given role but also to think of "how to grow InnoJin" as something personal. I expect you to utilize your expertise and become an influence across the entire business.
Q9. What do you consider important in your work?
It is sincerity and scientific validity. Once involved in medicine, deception is not allowed. It is important to build long-term trusted work rather than focusing on short-term results.
Q10. Please provide a message for those considering applying.
InnoJin is a company where like-minded individuals gather to seriously create the future of healthcare. We have an environment where we can work continuously from research and development to social implementation in the new field of digital health. Each person has a big goal and can fully demonstrate their expertise and ideas, which is the charm of InnoJin. I believe it is a place where those who want to "challenge themselves" and "create products that add value to society" can grow significantly. Let's work together to create a new form of healthcare. I look forward to meeting all of you.
